4th of July (2012)

Well, you saw that we woke up at the crack of dawn to bike up a 14,000 foot peak on the 4th of July, but it was worth it.  Not only that, but it left us starving for some BBQ!  We just had a couple people over to grill with.  Mike brought home a tent from work and we put in on the back deck because it gets so hot in the afternoons with the sun.  The menu was fruit salad, grilled corn on the cob, and bacon burgers with grilled pineapple and BBQ sauce.  Tasty!  Plus some friends brought Doritos, which are always delicious, so we were set.

One of the couples that came over has an adorable little 4 year old.  He is so smart! Seriously, this kid is the next einstein, he is like a little mini adult, but he's a lot cuter.  He also has a little brother on the way so I stayed with his mama where it was cool and we just relaxed the afternoon away.

Colorado is in a stage 2 fire ban this year so most of the firework shows in the state were cancelled.  So we just stayed out on the back deck.  Here is the view from the yard.  I wish we could keep the tent on the deck. It makes it so much more comfortable in the afternoon.
