Carson - 11 Months

Get ready to die of cuteness everyone.  Carson is 11 months this month and I took these pictures with his pumpkin.  He really loves this pumpkin. :-)

Buddy, 11 months old!  You are almost a year old!  Your daddy and I love you so much, you are worth every sleepless night and every fussy session that you have ever had.  We wouldn't trade any of it.  We cannot wait to see the little man you are going to grow into.  You are showing your personality more and more each day and you are such a goof!  You really are such a silly little guy and you bring a smile to everyone's face.  You can light up a room little bear.  I wonder how God is going to use that talent.

You've had some rough days this month, but overall your napping and sleeping is still "okay."  You are definitely not a great sleeper, but you do sleep, so we'll take it.  You are back to waking up once or twice at night to nurse, but it is usually around 2-4am and mom kind of likes that snuggle time with you.  Plus, she feels you still need the nutrition since your allergies are really keeping your diet from expanding.

You are sooo close to walking!  You try to take steps on your own every now and then, but you are very cautious and afraid of falling down.  You have learned how to maneuver your walker around though to where you can take it anywhere in the house.  You really are like an old man with your walker, you use it to walk everyone and have it close by to grab onto so you don't fall.

You love books!  Your favorite book right now is your "wheels on the bus" book.  You will just sit quietly and listen through that whole book, which is very unlike you (to sit still that is).

You love going outside.  We have been letting you crawl around in the grass and play outside more and you are tickled whenever we let you.  We have play lawnmower that we found and you love to push that around in the backyard.  Keep practicing buddy, mowing the lawn is in your future.

You eat three solid meals a day now.  You also nurse/get bottles four times a day.  Then you usually have a snack in the afternoon.  Momma is contemplating the best way to wean you from nursing during the day so she an stop pumping at work.

Your hair is ridiculous.  It is so fine and always mats after every bath and during every nap.  Daddy wants to cut it but momma says "no!"  Maybe when it gets a little longer. :-)

Your favorite foods are apples, chicken, rice puffs, and baby pancakes (just banana, rice flour, applesauce, and a little olive oil).

We don't know how much you weigh or what your height is.  I suppose I could measure you, but if I had to guess, I think you are around 21lbs and maybe 28 inches tall?  You are still really short.  All the other little kiddos that come over tower over you, even though you are the same age or younger.

You LOVE animals.  You get so excited whenever you see birds, puppies, bunnies, well, anything alive and of an animal sort.  You squeal and reach your hands out to point at whatever it is.

You are trying to point, but you don't have it quite down yet.  We live close to a small airport and you love to watch the planes fly overhead.  Whenever you hear an airplane you look for it and once you find it you point at it.  It is actually super cute and funny because if Michael or I say the word "airplane" you look up to the sky and point, even if we are in the house.

You have a love affair with our phones and the ipad.  We use the ipad to skype with Grandma and for you to watch your shows.  You have resorted to wandering off and then momma finds you in her bedroom, where you have terrorized momma's nightstand and found the beloved ipad.  You then just pat it and make noises, as if asking momma to turn it on.

You have been trying to use utensils more at mealtimes. You poke at your food with them, knowing that we use them to eat, but you are just not getting it down.  Even when one of your little kid forks actually pics up some sweet potato or apple, you can't figure out how to get the fork into your mouth by yourself.

We are in the process of baby-proofing.  Locks are going on drawers and there is now a gate that leads to the stairs.  You are quite the adventurer now and have no problems wandering around without anyone with you.

You are such a sweetheart.  You give huge, open-mouthed kisses now when we ask for them.  It is freaking adorable.

I really got the full effect of boy vs girl a couple weekends ago, and you are definitely all boy.  You are just out to demolish anything in your path, whereas this little girl was picking up after you and making sure you didn't break anything.

No matter what we do, you are peeing through your diapers almost every morning and this is part of what wakes you up so early.  We have tried going up a size, double jammies, nursing you less, nothing seems to make a difference.  What worked the best was definitely not feeding you at all during the night, but you were up way too much.

You are really starting to understand questions that we are asking you and seem to be trying to communicate back.  I wonder when you will say your first word?

We are going to dress you up for Halloween, but I'm not going to ruin that cute surprise yet.

You have been falling more lately as you are trying to do more things.  I know this is a part of childhood but I feel so bad for each little bruise and goose egg you get.

You are so cute.  Especially with your pudgy little hands and cheeks.  And those eyes!

You have started getting really excited to see you daddy when he gets home.  Since we both work sometimes, you definitely usually use up all your excitement for when mommy gets home, but lately you have been really excited to see daddy too.  And you definitely know who daddy is.  If I ask you "where's daddy" you will look for Michael.

Below is your cheesy grin face.  I know this is going to be in all photos once you get older and I ask you to smile.

You started walking (or at least taking multiple steps by yourself) on October 27th, 2014.  Officially 11 months old when you started walking.

Mommy is still trying to decide if she wants to do a birthday party or not for your first birthday. She might, more for her than you though.  :-)

You have 6 teeth, four on the top and two on the bottom, but I'm pretty sure that you are trying to get some more.  You have been drooling like crazy lately!

Your daddy and I need to start talking about parenting.  You are starting to get quite the personality and when you want something, you don't give up!  It is starting to end in full blown tantrums.  We have been trying to just keep you alive and that it is quite the shift to think about parenting you and raising you to be a godly, young man who listens to his parents. :-)

Let's just face it.  You are amazing.  You still have quite the road ahead little bear, in dealing with all your allergies.  Momma is going to try really hard to not be a helicopter parent, but I do need to keep you safe! Only 1 more month til you are one!!  And please, let us take a good video of you trying to walk so we can send it to your grandparents.  Thank you.  :-)
