Update - Baby Funk 2.0

So now for the update.  I mentioned in my 37 week post that baby girl's heart rate is low.  They cannot find anything wrong, but it is dropping out of their safe range sometimes.  I had another 2 hour monitoring session last Monday evening which showed she is very active, but when she slows down, her baseline is just very low.  Since they cannot find anything else wrong, we are just watching and waiting at this point. The concern is that she may be under some kind of distress or the placenta or cord may not be providing everything she needs or could be failing.  But the last biophysical profile showed that the cord and placenta look fine and the blood flow appears normal. Baby girl was happily moving and was trying to breathe which is normal for her gestational age.  So, we are just in a waiting game.  There is no immediate danger so they don't want to pull her out before she is ready. Even though she is 37 weeks and would survive just fine, that doesn't mean she is ready and would maybe need to spend some time in the NICU if they pushed her out now.  And my body is not ready for labor yet, so there would be a lot to get me there, which raises risks to baby girl and me by inducing me so early. They feel the induction is too hasty at this point as some babies just have lower heart rates.

At my midwife appointment last Friday, they decided she was completely normal, but just on the low end of normal.  I am back to weekly appointments.

I feel okay about this, but still a little stressed.  Pregnancy is one of those things that you can't control and there are no concerns as of right now so we are just going to wait.  Thank you for all your prayers and continued prayers that Baby girl will stay healthy until ready to come out.  :-)
