RSV

Not too many pictures being taken here.  On Monday last week, Carson started refusing to eat and was just not acting like himself.  After developing a fever on Tuesday, we found out Wednesday that Carson had RSV.  This can be a very nasty virus in babies so Michael and I were really worried.  I even know a mom here who's 3 month old ended up in hospital for 3 days from RSV.  So we were watching our little sicko pretty closely.

He was sick for 6 days.  Six long miserable days.  Poor guy!  He had a low grade fever the entire time and was congested and had a terrible cough.  He also lost his voice.  Monday this week was the first day that his fever went away. But even today he is still congested and coughing.  :-(

We were supposed to go to Grand Junction to visit my mom last weekend.  Michael had taken Friday off and we were so excited about seeing family, but we had to cancel.  It was nice that both of us were home to take care of Carson though.  It is a lot of work taking care of a sick infant.

We spent some long days just walking Carson around.  That seemed to be the only thing that would make him comfortable.  Finally on Saturday we had some really nice weather, 60 degrees!  So we felt Carson would benefit from some fresh air so we bundled him up in my Moby wrap and spent some quality family time outside.

Michael worked on the used Burly we bought for Carson to use this summer.  He is pretty excited to pull Carson around.

I watched and snuggled Carson, who was sleeping during the whole outside time.

Sunday we skipped church because Carson was still sick.  But we did notice that he seemed to be a little more like himself Sunday night.  But you can still see in the pic he looks sick.

We hope we are through the sicknesses for awhile.  Sara picked up RSV from Carson, but it is very mild for adults, just a cough and stuffy/runny nose.  Whew, everyone has been great at telling us it gets easier, but it has been a tough one folks.  We just haven't been able to settle down and enjoy our son for awhile!  First it was the blood in his diapers and colic, then Sara and Michael got the flu and Carson got a fever, then Carson and Sara get RSV.  This has all been the last four weeks.  I (Sara) feel like I just can't fight off any disease right now because of the lack of sleep.  The time change was also last weekend along with Carson's RSV so the poor guy's schedule is all messed up.  He is back to waking up every 2 hours at night, making Sara really tired.  We are so ready for some more warm weather and NO sickies!!
