Easter 2016

We had a great Easter this year.  It reminded me of the Easter we had several years ago in Moab, when we were only 6 weeks pregnant with Carson.  That year, we watched the sun rise on Easter Sunday through Arches National Park.  It was so amazing.

This year, Carson got us up early and so we had time to go watch the sunrise from the top of a hill by our house.  It was so nice to sit there as a family and read the Easter story and watch the sun once again rise, by God's grace alone. Carson chomped on a muffin and kept saying "I want to see the run-rises!"  Baby girl kicked away in my belly.  Things seemed beyond perfect, how did we get to be so blessed?

Easter really is the MOST important holiday of the Christian faith.  Without Easter, there is no reason to even believe.  If God didn't rise from the dead like he said he did, our faith is meaningless.

At our Easter service, our pastor spoke about how God still moves boulders, back in Jesus's time, and even now. It was a great sermon, one which I have had to apply this week to remind myself that God is in control and everything is in His timing, but He is faithful.

After service, we went home for a little bit before driving down to south Denver to have Easter dinner with friends.  These friends also have food allergies so everything was safe and there was tons of food to eat for everyone.  It was a great time to spend with such amazing people to celebrate our faith.  He is Risen!!

December Happenings

This post is going to be pretty short and sweet.  :-)  All our Christmas photos are on Mike's phone, and I have yet to get them off of there so I will have to make my Christmas post at a later date.  But here are some of the things that happened in December.

Mike watched some K-state games.

Carson took a selfie.

Carson enjoyed some food.

Mike and I stayed up late on night at the beginning of December to watch a meteor shower.  We actually saw a few!

It was so cold, but we had a fire to keep us warm.

Carson and daddy hung out.  Carson tried on Daddy's gloves.

Carson went out to lunch with Mommy and Aunt Jamie.  He enjoyed the french fries.

Mommy (Sara) found Jamberry nails and actually became a consultant (for fun).  More on that later.

Mmmm, pizza (no gluten, no cheese, but still delicious!)

Carson really started enjoying playing outside.

Such a little polar bear!

And now it is 2015!  Woah, what a year.  :-)  Happy New Year everyone!

Memorial Day Weekend - 2014

If you know Michael and I at all, we tend to be people who are always on the go, go, go!  But this last holiday weekend, instead of traveling or trying to camp, we just hung out at home with Carson and had a BBQ.   Which turned out to be a good thing because I decided to nap train and Carson decided to cut teeth!  It would have been an interesting travel experience if we had tried to go anywhere.

I figured out how to secure Carson's car seat in our Burly.  So we took a LOT of bike rides this weekend.  Carson likes it and so do daddy and mommy.  We love being able to ride around the neighborhood.

We biked Carson to a park by our house on Saturday.  They had a special kids swing, but Carson didn't fit in it too well...

He liked swinging, but couldn't really see out.  :-)

So we tried the other swing.  He is still a little too small for it, but he had a great time!

Love this face!! (See the drool, shoulda known he was teething)
Carson loves being outside.  Just going outside will always put him in a good mood, just like his mama.

And yes, I mentioned that he cut teeth!  The day of our BBQ (Sunday) we had no idea that was going on, hence the unsmiling face.

Guys! My gums hurt, I can't smile right now
We basically were rained out of our BBQ, but that didn't stop people from bring beer to drink!  Seriously, everyone was so generous with their drinks.  And no, we are not alcoholics.  We provide the food, everyone else provided their own drinks.

We had a great weekend, even with Carson teething.  He has really been handling it like a champ.  Night time is hard, so we have been giving him tylenol.  When they come through a little more, I'll have to take a pic!
